Snake River Ranch
The Snake River flowing past cottonwoods with mountain peaks behind, Swan Valley, Idaho

Acres of quiet, ending at the river

The South Fork of the Snake rolls past the back of the property — firepit on the bank, mountains on the horizon.

The grounds

Everything points toward the water

The property is laid out around the river: the firepit circle sits right on the bank, the hammock hangs in the cottonwoods at the water's edge, and the decks face the valley.

  • The Snake River, in the backyard

Walk out the back of the property and you're on the bank of the South Fork of the Snake — no drive, no trailhead.

  • Riverfront firepit

Adirondack chairs around a firepit at the water's edge — sunset here is the whole show.

  • Large private plot

Acres of secluded ground between you and the neighbors. Quiet, private, and genuinely off the beaten path.

  • Riverside hammock

Strung between the cottonwoods at the bank, facing the water.

  • Wildlife at the door

Guests have watched foxes cross the grounds; eagles, osprey, moose, and deer are regulars in the valley.

Honest notes from the hosts

  • The river is beautiful but swift — it's for fishing and views, not swimming.
  • The nearest grocery store is about 25 minutes away; stock up on the way in.
  • You're genuinely off the beaten path — that's the point.
